Cliffs of Moher, Ireland – July 21st, 2014

We got out of bed excited to go to the Cliffs of Moher which is a beautiful place where you can see the North Atlantic Ocean and gigantic cliffs as far as the eye can see.  You can also walk, hike, eat, sleep and many more things while at the cliffs!
The cliffs were enormous and covered in grass.  On one side of the cliff there is a wall preventing you from falling into the water.  On the other side there were multiple dirt paths that you could feel were bumpy.  Sometimes there would be a gravel path where you could feel the rocks under your feet.  We had to walk carefully because it was a long way down into the water!
Don't get too close to the edge!

We started walking to the southern tip of the cliffs and saw cows, boats, stones and birds.  The birds we saw were white and looked a little like seagulls.  They are called kittiwakes.  The birds didn’t even have to flap their wings to fly because there was wind, so they just soared.  My mom wanted to see puffins but we did not this time.  We also saw the turquoise blue water and the waves smelled  salty and said “whoosh”.  Guess what!  We saw a scout camp sleeping on the cliff – one guy was even snoring!
On our walk we could smell heather and lavender which makes you feel relaxed.  We also smelled cows which was not the best smell!
What we thought was interesting was all the languages we heard that were spoken like French, German, Irish, and many more.
We decided to sit down and have our lunch on the cliff.  The food tasted so good because there was fresh air.  To our left we could see some sort of tower and in front of us, we overlooked the water.
Beautiful Scenery!

It was nice to feel the warm wind while we were walking.  At one point, I could feel the wind blowing the mist on me and it felt refreshing.
At the cliffs, we felt relaxed, we felt kind of scared because there was no railings but it was so breath taking.
Check out our video we made!

I’ve been reading your blogs about Ireland. I particularly enjoy the way you describe all the places. I’ve been there too and you make me want to go back again. I hope you get a chance to go to the Giant’s Causeway. It was one of my favourite places.
