Our most recent Global Fieldtrip Night – Marvelous Mediterranean – was a resounding success! So far at each of our evenings we have had a different mix of people attend every time and this weekend was no exception. We had almost 40 people attend, including a few new faces, and I think we had the most kids in attendance yet! Lots of fun!
Of course we had food!
The specialties this month included our cauliflower pizza, and Italian wonderpot, along with lasagna, souvlaki, and Katina’s new favourite homemade tzaziki!
After the meal was finished, we needed to work off those calories, so everyone got up and we did a few laps of the main floor of our house dancing Greek style!
Soon it was time to get the show on the road.
We had two special guests this month! Matthew Siomos is our cousin from Australia who is studying Mechanical Engineering in the US on a soccer scholarship. He was here for the week as the school was off for US Thanksgiving break. It was great to have Matthew join us…he even presented his top 5 things he saw while visiting Toronto!
We also had our niece Katherine present during our Rome section. We had the pleasure of Katherine’s company during our trip when she joined us last December during our cruise of Italy, Greece, and Turkey.
To start things off we had a little quiz, Jeopardy style!
We had a very attentive crowd who actively participated!
We also had the chance to share some of our favourite pictures and stories…
After a few desserts, it was time to wrap up for the evening!
Our next event will be Holiday Highlights featuring Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Cyprus. For those of you who wish to attend note that this session will be run on Friday December 18th, rather than on the usual Saturday.
There will be a blog post published shortly with the details and sign-up form…
Until next time…arrivederci!
